Javahar Navodaya Vidyalya Samiti Entrance Examination Notification has been released by the JAVAHAR NAVODYA VIDYALYA SAMITI. This Entrance examination for admission into 6th class in Javahar Navodaya Vidyalya Schools for the academic year 2014-15.  This entrance examination will be held on 08.02.2014 in all the districts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Union Territory Yanam, Pudicherry, Karaikkal, Mahe, Minicoy, North and Middle Andaman and Car Nicobar. So, Javahar Navodaya Vidyalya Samiti invites applications from the eligible candidates.

Students currently studying in 5th class from any school recognized by state or central government are eligible for the Noavodaya Entrance Exam 2014-15

How to Apply:
 1. Applications are available free of cost at all District's Mandal Educational Offices or Block Education Officer or Principals of recognized school having 5th class, Sarvashiksha Abhiyan accredited Schools.
Applications forms are also available at National Institute of Open Schooling, Principal Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas of the district concerned.
2. Duly filled in Application form should be submitted to the Block Education Officer of the concerned the block/ Mandal / Taluka of the district, where the Javahar Navodaya is located.

Composition of the Test/Details of Testing pattern:
The selection test will be of two-hour duration and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions. There are 100 questions in all of 100 marks. Each question carries one mark. The test will carry 50 marks for Mental ability, 25 marks for Arithmatic and 25 marks for Language Test. The medium of the test will be the medium through  which the candidate is studying in 5th class

          In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986) Government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs). Presently the JNVs are spread in 27 States and 7 Union Territories. These are co-educational residential schools fully financed and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Admissions in JNVs are made through the JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SELECTION TEST (JNVST) at Class VI. The medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to Class VIII and English thereafter for Maths and Science and Hindi for Social Science. Students of the JNVs appear for X and XII class examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education. While education in the schools is free including boarding, lodging, uniforms and textbooks, a nominal fee of Rs.200/- per month will have to be paid by the children from IX to XII class. However, children belonging to SC/ST, Girls and Physically Handicapped and from the families whose income is below poverty line are exempted from payment of fees.
