Child Rights, Library Week Celebrations under READ Programme of LEP

The Project Director, Telangana SSA, Warangal has given instructions on Child Rights Week Celebrations and Library Week from 16.11.2015 to 21.11.2015 in Schools and Guidelines have been issued for for implementation of the Library Week “Patanothstavaalu” at school level/school complex level and mandal level during the above period, treating the same as “Grandhaalaya Vaarotstavaalu” under “READ PROGRAMME” which is a part of Learning Enhancement Programme (LEP). Reference: 1. Instructions of the State Project Director, SSA, Telangana state, Hyderabad dated. 04.11.2015.

As per the instructions of the State Project Director, SSA, Telangana state, Hyderabad, it is scheduled to conduct Child Rights Week Celebrations and Library Week (Patanothstavaalu) from 16.11.2015 to 21.11.2015.

Therefore, all the Mandal Educational Officers in the district are informed to instruct the Headmasters and School Complex Headmasters for implementation of the Library Week “
” at school level/school complex level and mandal level during the above period, treating the same as “Grandhaalaya Vaarotstavaalu” under “READ PROGRAMME” which is a part of Learning Enhancement Programme (LEP).

The child right week celebrations are to be focused on the following.
16.11.2015 :
- Celebrations of Nehru’s Birthday (Children’s Day).
- To tell the importance of the library. To read the Balasahityam by the children.

17.11.2015:
- Teachers and children collect the magazines, newspaper clippings.

18.11.2015:
- Prepare an album from newspaper clippings and magazines.
- To collect the donations and purchase the new books.

19.11.2015:
- Book reading with the children, storytelling, to read the new books.
- To prepare the invitation letters with the children.

20.11.2015:
- Teachers decided the programmes and conduct the competition. Ex : Storytelling, songs, speeches, elocution competitions etc.
- To give the prizes to the winners on International Child Right Day.

21.11.2015:
- Valedictory function – Inviting eminent personalities and parents to the school as an inspiration to the children.
- To store the library books.
