IGNOU Open University Degree,PG, Diploma, Certificates Courses Admissions 2017/ IGNOU admissions 2017: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the online application process for 2017. Students who are interested in pursuing any of the 173 programmes offered by the university from the official website by July 31, 2017. The academic session for the bachelors, masters and science stream courses in science, social science, humanities and management begins in July for the academic year of 2017-18.

“Performing and visual arts, inter and trans-disciplinary studies, translation, engineering and technology, extension and development studies, foreign languages, journalism and new media studies and vocational education and training are some of the other disciplines available for interested students,” the university said in a notice.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) invites applications for masters, degree, PG diploma, diploma and certificate programmes for July-2017. The last date for submission of applications is July 31. Applications can be accessed by logging on to www.onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/. Courses such as B.Com (A&F), B.Com (CA&A), MA (Education), M.Com (BP&CG), MBA (Banking and Finance) and MBA are offered offline by the university. IGNOU likely to launch course on spiritualism from August
The inauguration for the course is likely to take place at the Akshardham Research Centre that is on the premises of the temple in Delhi. The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is considering establishing a Swami Narayan Chair in its campus and launch alue education and spiritualism programmes by August 2017. Prof. Ravindra Kumar, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU, announced this during a meeting with the representatives of the Swami Narayan sansthan recently, a press release from the university states.

“With this collaboration, all the centres of Swami Narayan in India and abroad shall be established as IGNOU study centres and exam centres for the programme,” Ravindra informed. According to the press release, the course, titled as ‘Pracheen Bhartiya Sabhyata Aivam Sanskriti’, is at the final stages of approval. The inauguration for the course is likely to take place at the Akshardham Research Centre that is on the premises of the temple in Delhi.

The press release quotes one of the representatives from the spiritual group as saying: “We look forward to teach today’s generation the rich culture and values of India. We aim to bring into their notice that education is not only studying engineering, medical, commerce, philosophy etc., but its connotations are wide. Around 60,000 students per year undergo our examination but with no certification. Around 22,000 students are associated with us from USA, England and Africa with all our curriculum online.” “We are not a regular college, but still it has a curriculum and examination system,” he added.

Recently, the university launched 11 free online MOOC courses out of which two a certificate course in Russian and a certificate course in e-learning are already functional.

Instruction to Fill Application Form Online
  1. If you are a first time applicant you are advised to click the available programme tab on the homepage of the Online Admission System and select the desired programme and carefully read the details of programme including eligibility criteria, fee details, duration, etc.
  2. You are also requested to download the Common Prospectus 2016-2017 and read carefully the Rules of the University (Section 06) as mentioned in the common prospectus. You may also read section 1, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 13.
    1. Click on the button "REGISTER YOURSELF" that appears in the applicant login area and fill the required registration details.
    2. Remember, while choosing your UserName it must be in between 8 to 16 characters.
    3. While choosing your password it must be alphanumeric and between 8 to 16 characters long.
    4. After filling the mandatory information click the "SUBMIT" button.
    5. Your username will be instantly sent to you via e-mail and SMS.
  3. Remember your Username and Password for subsequent login.
  4. If you have already registered i.e you are an existing user click the "LOGIN" button.
  5. Before proceeding for filling the form online the applicant must have the following:-
    1. Scanned Photograph (less than 100 KB)

Steps for filling Online form:

  1. Click on "LOGIN" button from the homepage of Online admission system and then login with your UserName and password by clicking the "LOGIN" button given on the login screen.
  2. Fill personal details, programme details, qualification details, course details, and correspondence details. Remember, while filling qualification details :-
    • If your subjects are different than the subjects mentioned; click the "OTHERS" check box.
    • For those with qualification of graduation and above, in the field "Board Code" select "9999".
  3. Upload Scanned Documents: Remember, before this step you should must have the relevant scanned documents (It is suggested to scan documents from your originals). These include:
    • Scanned Photograph (less than 100 KB)
    • Scanned Signature (less than 100 KB)
    • Scanned copy of Age Proof.
    • Scanned copy of relevant Educational Qualification (less than 400 KB)
    • Scanned Copy of Experience Certificate (if any). (less than 400 KB)
    • Scanned Copy of Category Certificate, if SC/ST/OBC. (less than 400 KB)
    • Scanned Copy of BPL Certificate, if Below Poverty Line. (less than 400 KB)
  4. Pay your Programme fee through debit/credit card (Master/Visa/Rupay) and Net banking :-
    1. Payment by Debit/Credit Card (Master/Visa/Rupay): You have to select Debit/Credit Card option to pay the programme fee and follow the online instruction to complete the payment of fee. After successful payment, you will be able to print/save the payment confirmation slip.
    2. Payment by Net banking : If you have net banking account select this option. You will be redirected to your bank website.
    3. Payment by ATM Card (PNB)
Once you have uploaded the document and click the "NEXT" button you will get the Form Preview option. Save/Print your form for future reference.
