The online registration would commenced from January last week. The NEET UG exam would be conducted in May. Although the official notification for the exam has not been released yet, here we give the tentative exam schedule, eligibility and other details so that students have necessary documents and information while they are applying for NEET 2018. The exam will be conducted in Hindi, English, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2018 online application forms are expected to start from January 31, 2018. Central Board of Secondary Education is likely to release the NEET 2018 notification after January 25, 2018. The online application forms are most likely to start from Jan. 31 on the official website cbseneet.nic.in. Candidates interested in applying for the examination can do so then. NEET 2018 is scheduled to be held on May 10, 2018, across centres in the country. All students and interested applicants are also informed that NEET 2018 is the only medical entrance examination for admission to MBBS and BDS or medical and dental colleges in the country. The NEET 2018 scores would be applicable to all government, government aided and private medical colleges in the country.

The only other medical entrance test is for AIIMS MBBS 2018 and JIPMER MBBS 2018. These two institutions do not fall under the purview of NEET, as per the SC directive. Also, candidates interested in joining Armed Forces Medical College, AFMC are also required to apply for NEET examination. Also, as per the latest updates, candidates interested in applying for courses in alternative medicine under the Ayush initiative are also required to appear in NEET. This, however, has not been confirmed as yet. Notification in this regards is expected to be released before the NEET 2018 online applications forms. All aspirants are requested to note that the dates provided here are still provisional and not confirmed. The forms and notification may be released ahead of the given schedule. CBSE releases major update for NEET 2018 exam syllabus:

 According to the board who is the official organizer of the national level medical exam, the syllabus of National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 will be exactly same as it was for NEET, 2017.

NEET Exam on May 6?: 
NEET 2018 exam is expected to be held on May 06 and the syllabus has been uploaded to the official website of CBSE NEET, cbseneet.nic.in. Last week, according to the report; students, parents and teachers have written to the central government against its decision to rearrange the syllabus for the NEET.

Last year, NEET official notification was out towards the end of January month. The same trend can be expected this year as well as there isn't much gap in the exam date.

The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2018, on May 6, 2018, as per reports. The entrance exam for all medical and dental colleges in the country, except the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, was conducted on Sunday, May 7, last year. CBSE, had communicated the date to all exam boards to avoid a clash of dates with NEET. The notification, to be issued before January 30, will have more details. Last week, the CBSE denied reports of a change in the syllabus of NEET 2018. Students can access the syllabus on the NEET?website www.cbseneet.nic.in.

Eligibility criteria for NEET UG 2018:
Educational qualification
Aspirants should have passed class 12 or equivalent exam with physics, chemistry, biology/bio-technology and English individually. Moreover, they must have obtained a minimum of 50 per cent marks taken together in physics, chemistry and biology/bio-technology at the qualifying examination.

Aadhaar card requirement
Since last year, CBSE made Aadhaar card mandatory for registration. This is, however, not applicable in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya. For NRIs, passport number is required for the same.

Age and attempt criteria
A candidate can attempt the paper three times only for the medical entrance exam. Therefore, students who have already sat for NEET 2017 have two more chances.

The CBSE had also introduced maximum age limit to 25 years. After students protest and several petitions, the Supreme Court had ruled against the notice. However, for 2018, there are no updates on whether CBSE will bring back this criterion.


NEET 2018 syllabus not to be changed, CBSE issues notification:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an official notification, on its website cbseneet.nic.in, denying any sort of changes which were speculated to be made in the NEET UG syllabus. There were rumors that state curriculum might be included in the syllabus. The notice issued by the CBSE states, “The syllabus of NEET (UG) 2018 will be exactly same as it was for NEET (UG) 2017. There is no change in the syllabus of NEET (UG) 2018”. The NEET 2018 notification is expected to be released anytime soon.

In 2017, the exam was conducted on Sunday, May 7 and therefore, this year too, NEET is likely to be held in the first week of May. The exam is held for admission in MBBS seats in medical colleges across India. Only AIIMS and JIPMER conducts their own exam. NEET was made mandatory from 2016. The exam will be conducted in Hindi, English, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. NEET UG 2018 exam pattern:
There will be one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with a single correct answer) from physics, chemistry and biology (botany and zoology). The duration of paper would be three hours from 10 am to 1 pm. Question papers can be obtained in the following languages - Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.

NEET UG Admit Card:
The CBSE will provide the facility of downloading Admit Cards of NEET (UG) on the Board’s website alongwith a format for affixing of Postcard size photograph. Candidates are required to download the admit cards from the website and follow the instructions given therein. Candidate may please note that admit cards will not be sent by the post. When candidate will download the Admit Card, a copy of the same in pdf fomat will also be emailed to the candidate on the registered email id.
The Admit Card will bear the candidate’s Roll Number, Name, Father’s Name, Category, Sub-Category, Photograph, Signature, Date of Birth, Language of Question Paper with Name and Address of examination entre allotted. The candidate should carefully examine the Admit Card downloaded by him/her for all the entries made therein.

- Online submission of application may be made by accessing the Board’s website www.cbseneet.nic.in Instructions for submitting online application and payment of fee are available on website.
- Candidates may remit the fee in the following manner:
a. Through any Debit/Credit Card
b. Net Banking/UPIor
c. e-wallets of different service provider
