The government on August 21  announced dates for exams that will select candidates for the country’s top engineering and medical colleges. The exams for JEE Main I, JEE Main II, CMAT and GPAT, NEET (UG), and UGC (NET) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency, the human resources development ministry announced.

NTA announces exam schedule for UGC-NET, JEE-main, NEET-UG, GPAT & CMAT
The Centre on 21st August, 2018 announced the dates for various exams to be conducted by the National Testing Agency till May 2019. The tentative schedule for the exams was released by the Human resource and development (HRD) ministry at a press conference on July 7. The government has released the schedule for the UGC NET, JEE Main 1 and JEE Main II, NEET (UG), CMAT and GPAT exams.

NTA UGC NET 2019: The UGC-NET will be a computer-based exam for which candidates will be able to register between September 1 and 30. The admit cards for the examinations - to be held between December 9 and 23 - can be downloaded from November 19. The results will be announced on January 10, 2019.

NTA JEE Main I 2019: The JEE Main-I will be a computer-based examination for which candidates will be able to register between September 1 and 30. The admit card for the examination – to be held between January 6 and 20  can be downloaded from December 17. The results will be announced on January 31, 2019.

NTA JEE Main II 2019: The JEE Main-II will be a computer-based exam for which candidates will be able to register between February 8 and March 7, 2019. The admit card for the examination - to be held between April 6 and April 20, 2019 - can be downloaded from March 18. The results will be announced on April 30, 2019.

NTA NEET UG 2019: The NEET (UG) exam will be a single-session test held on a pen-and-paper basis. Candidates will be able to register for the same between November 1 and 30. The admit card for the exam - to be held on May 5, 2019 - can be downloaded from April 15. The results will be announced on June 5, 2019.

NTA CMAT and GPAT 2019: The CMAT and GPAT will be computer-based exams for which candidates will be able to register between November 1 and 30. Admit cards for the exams - to be held on January 28, 2019 - can be downloaded from January 7. The results will be announced on February 10, 2019.

NTA Natioinal Level Entrance Exams Schedule. Subsequent to the tentative schedule released in the Ministry's press conference dated 7th July 2018, the following is the final schedule of examinations to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) till May 2019:

Mode of examination: Computer based
Registration dates: 1st to 30th September, 2018.
Downloading of admit cards: 19th November, 2018.
Date of examinations: 9th to 23rd December, 2018.
Date of 2nnetincing results: 10th January, 2019.

Examination: JEE Main 1
Mode of examination: Computer based
Registration dates: 1st to 30th September, 2018.
Downloading of admit cards: 17th December, 2018.
Date of examinations: 6th to 20th January, 2019.
Date of announcing results: 31st January, 2019.

Examination: JEE Main II 
Mode of examination: Computer based
Registration dates: 8th February to 7th March, 2019.
Downloading of admit cards: 18th March, 2019
Date of examinations: 6th to 20th April, 2019.
Date of announcing results: 30th April, 2019.

Examination: CMAT & GPAT 
Mode of examination: Computer based
Registration dates: 1st to 30th November, 2018.
Downloading of admit cards: 7th January, 2019.
Data of examinations: 28th January, 2019.
Date of announcing results: 10th February, 2019.

Examination: N.EET (U G)* 
Mode of examination: Pen & Paper exam (in single session)
Registration dates: 1st to 30th November, 2018.
Downloading of admit cards: 15th April, 2019.
Date of examinations: 5th May, 2019,
Date of announcing results: 5th June, 2019.

* The change in the NEET exam pattern (as against the statement made on 7th July 2018), which will now be a single exam in pen-and-paper mode and in the same number of languages as has been conducted last.
