NTA JEE Main 2020 Application Fee, Exam Pattern, Syllabus: JEE Main registration from 01-09-2019 and JEE Main registration from 08-02-2020: Application, how to apply, eligibility, syllabus, fees, important dates.  JEE Main 2020: From this year, the Joint Entrance Main (JEE Main) examination will be conducted twice a year, the first examination will be held from January 6 to 20, 2020 and the second examination from April 6 to 20, 2020. However, the government has changed its decision to conduct NEET twice a year, the examination will be conducted once and in pen-and-paper mode.

JEE Main I and JEE Main II 2020:
JEE Main I: The application process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) II will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA).  JEE Main I would be held from January 6 to 20 and the results will be declared on January 19. The JEE will be held in multiple sessions and students will have the option to choose a date.

JEE Main II will be held from April 6 to 20, 2020. Last year, the HRD Ministry had decided to conduct the exam twice a year. Moreover, if a student appears for the JEE (Main) twice, the best of his/ her two scores will be taken into account.

JEE Main 2020: Eligibility criteria
A score of at least 75 per cent in class 12 board exams or a place among the top 20 percentile of the Boards is required to be eligible for JEE main or advanced. For candidates of the SC and ST categories, this has been lowered to 65 per cent. Those who clear the JEE Main and JEE Advanced papers will make candidates eligible for admission to Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) courses at Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) across India.

JEE Main 2020 Syllabus
1. Physics
This section will include questions on general topics, gaseous and liquid states, atomic structure and chemical bonding, energetics, chemical equilibrium, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, solid state, solutions, surface chemistry and nuclear chemistry. In will also include the general topics, mechanics, thermal physics, electricity and magnetism, optics and modern physics.

2. Inorganic Chemistry
This section will contain questions on isolation/preparation and properties of non-metals, preparation and properties of compounds, transition elements (3D series), ores and minerals, extractive metallurgy and principles of quality analysis.

3. Organic chemistry
This section will include questions on concepts, preparation/properties/reactions of alkanes/alkynes, reactions of benzene, phenols, characteristic reactions, carbohydrates, amino acids and peptides, properties and uses of important polymers and practical organic chemistry.

4. Mathematics:
This section will include questions on algebra, trigonometry, analytical geometry, differential calculus, integral calculus and vectors.

Exam pattern:
Paper 1 is for candidates appearing for admission to BE and BTech courses. It will contain objective type questions (both online and offline) in physics, chemistry and mathematics. Paper 2 is conducted for students who wish to pursue BArch or BPlan. This paper will solely be conducted in the pen and paper mode and will include objective type questions in mathematics, an aptitude test and a drawing test.

Eligibility for JEE Main 2020:
Educational qualifications: The candidates need to clear plus two examination with Science as a stream (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) and 50 per cent marks.

JEE Main 2020: Application fee:
A. For JEE Main Paper-I or Paper-II:.....
The candidates (boys)(General/ OBC) category have to pay an application fee of Rs 500, While reserve category candidates and girls have to pay an application fee of Rs 250.

B. JEE Main Paper-I and II:...
For both the papers, the general/ OBC category candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs 1300, while Rs 650 for reserve category candidates and girls.

JEE Main I January Exam: Commences from January 6
Online submission of application forms: September 1 to September 30
Downloading of admit cards: December 17
Dates of examination: January 6 to January 20 (8 different sittings and candidate can choose anyone)
Declaration of results: January 31

JEE Main II April Exam: Commences from April 6
Online submission of application forms: February 8 to March 7
Downloading of admit cards: March 18
Dates of examination: April 6 to April 20 (8 different sittings and candidate can choose anyone)
Declaration of results: April 30
