Details of Courses:
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
The Two-year Bachelor of Education programme, generally known as B.Ed., is designed based on the recommendations of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). This is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VIII), secondary level (classes IX-X) and senior secondary level (classes XI-XII) for applicants with post-graduation. The curriculum is designed to integrate the study of Subject Knowledge, Human Development, Pedagogical Knowledge and Communication Skills.

This programme specifically provides quality teachers for secondary schools in Science, Mathematics, Language and Social Science. The students admitted to the course every year opt for either Science and Maths or Social Science and Languages. This entitles them to become efficient teachers of Science/Mathematics, and Social Science/Language. The course is so designed in such a way that the students will be well versed in content as well as pedagogy. Through CEE-2019 candidates will get opportunity to get admission in B.Ed. in any one of the RIEs at Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mysuru and North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE) Shillong based on their state of eligibility.

B.Ed.M.Ed.(Integrated)
The B.Ed.M.Ed.(Integrated) Programme is a three-year full time professional programme in education, without any option of intermediate exit before completing three years of study. It aims at preparing teacher educators and other professionals in education including Curriculum Developers, Educational Policy Analysts, Educational Planners and Administrators, School Principals, Supervisors, and Researchers in the field of education. The completion of the programme shall lead to integrated B.Ed.M.Ed. degree with specialisation in either elementary education or secondary and senior secondary education. This programme currently offered only in RIE, Bhopal. Through CEE-2019 candidates from all over the country will have an opportunity to get admission to this course in RIE, Bhopal.

It maintains balance between theory and practice, coherence and integration among the components of the programme, representing a wide knowledge base of a secondary school teacher. The programme aims at preparing teachers for upper primary and secondary stages of education.

The students may opt one Language and two Social Science subjects as optional to enable them to become TGT (Soc. Science) and TGT (Language). Through CEE-2019 candidates will get opportunity to get admission in B.A. B.Ed. in any of the RIEs Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal and Mysuru based on their state of eligibility. This programme is not offered in NERIE, Shillong.

B.Sc.B.Ed.

Through CEE-2019 candidates will get opportunity to get admission in B.Sc.B.Ed. in any one of the RIEs at Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal and Mysuru based on the state of eligibility. This programme is not offered in RIE Shillong.

M.Ed.

M.Sc.Ed.
This is an integrated Programme of Teacher Education leading to the post-graduate degree, M.Sc.Ed. in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with an aim to prepare senior secondary school teachers of physics, chemistry, and mathematics without any option of intermediate exit before completing six years of study. The programme is of six year duration organized on the semester pattern with 2 semesters in a year. Each semester consists 16 weeks of instruction excluding examination. The course contents related to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are equivalent respectively to course content in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics included in the syllabus for the same subjects in B.Sc.(PCM) and M.Sc.(Mathematics) of University of Mysuru, taken together. The course content related to educational components in M.Sc.Ed. are equivalent to that of B.Ed. of University of Mysuru and in addition, contains Professional Education components required for teaching of Mathematics at senior secondary level. This degree is equivalent to M.Sc. and B.Ed. degrees of University of Mysuru. The students who pass this course are considered eligible to pursue Ph.D. degree in their respective areas in compliance with Ph.D. regulations of University of Mysuru. This programme currently offered only in RIE, Mysuru. Through CEE-2019 candidates from all over the country will have an opportunity to get admission to this course in RIE, Mysuru.

Eligibility

Course Duration: 4 years
Eligibility: +2/Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary or Equivalent in Science (PCM/PCB) with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PwD candidates). The candidates who have passed this examination in 2017, 2018 and appearing/ appeared in 2019 are only eligible.
2. Course name: B.A.B.Ed.(integrated Programme to prepare secondary school teachers in English and Social Science).
Course Duration: 4 years
Eligibility: +2/Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary or Equivalent in Science/Commerce/Arts with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PwD candidates). The candidates who have passed this examination in 2017, 2018 and appearing/ appeared in 2019 are only eligible.
3. Course name: M.Sc.Ed.(integrated Programme to prepare higher secondary school teachers in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).
Course Duration: 6 years
Eligibility: +2/Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary or Equivalent in Science and Mathematics (PCM) with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PwD candidates). The candidates who have passed this examination in 2017, 2018 and appearing/ appeared in 2019 are only eligible.
4. Course name: B.Ed.(programme to prepare secondary school teachers in Science & Mathematics/Language & Social Science)
Course Duration: 2 years
Eligibility: Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Science/ Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science or Mathematics or in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Social Science/Humanities are eligible for admission to the programme (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PwD candidates)..
5. Course name: M.Ed.(programme to prepare teacher educators and other professionals in education):
Course Duration: 2 years
Eligibility: Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. Programme should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PwD Candidates) in B.Ed. / B.A.Ed./ B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed./B.El.Ed./D.El.Ed. (with bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science).
6. Course name: B.Ed.M.Ed.(programme to prepare teacher educators and other professionals in education)
Course Duration: 3 years
Eligibility: A post graduate degree in science / social science/ humanity from a recognized institution with a minimum of 55%marks or equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).

Syllabus: 
Language Proficiency indicating specific areas like comprehension, rearranging sentences, selecting suitable words for the blanks, finding out errors in parts of the sentences, finding out equivalent meaning to the given phrases, finding out suitable words for the incomplete sentences, sequencing, grammar which includes synonyms, antonyms, idioms, prepositions, tenses, articles.
Teaching Aptitude will cover specific areas like attitude towards education, children and teaching profession; interest in teaching; leadership qualities & group management; emotional & social adjustment; intrapersonal & interpersonal skills; and general awareness of contemporary issues pertaining to school education.
Reasoning Ability indicating specific areas like verbal non-verbal reasoning, missing numbers, number series, letter series, theme finding, jumbling, analogy, odd one out, arranging the statements in a sequential form, statement and conclusions, syllogism, logical problems, establishing relationships.

The fee for entrance examination is applicable to all the candidates as per the rate shown below:
