TSTET 2016 Exam Syllabus, Structure, Content, Paper I and II Syllabus: TSTET 2016 i.e., First Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test 2016 Notification will be released by the DSE, Govt. of Telangana in the month of December 2015 and TSTET  will be conducted in all 10 Districts of the state on January 24th, 2016. TS Teacher Eligibility Test for Recruitment as a teacher for classes I to VIII in the Schools of the State Government, Mandal Parishad, Zilla Parishad, Muncipality, Private Aided Schools and Private unaided schools in Telangana state.

TSTET 2016 Exam Syllabus, Structure, Content: The TS Teacher Eligibility Test/TSTET will be conducted in 2 papers. The candidates who intend to be teachers I to V have to appear for Paper I and The candidates who intend to be teachers VI to VIII have to appear for Paper II.  The candidates who intend to be teachers I to VIII have to appear both  papers, Paper I and Paper II.

a) All questions in TSTET 2016 will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.
b) There will be two papers of TSTET 2016.
(i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

c) A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

d) Paper I (for Classes I to V); No. of MCQs - 150:
Duration of examination: 2½ hours

i) The syllabus for Child Development and Pedagogy under Paper- I is based on the syllabus of D.Ed curriculum focusing on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning in Classes I to V and above. The syllabus also focuses on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

ii) In Telangana State, the following languages are offered under Language I viz., Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya and Tamil. Candidate has to choose one of these 9 languages under Language I under TSTET 2016. Those candidates would have compulsorily studied in that language either as medium of study or as first language at least up to Class X as stated in the eligibility criteria above.

iii) In respect of Telangana State language II under TSTET 2016 shall be English for all candidates irrespective of medium of the school to which they intend to seek employment.

iv) The syllabi for Mathematics & Environmental Studies are designed on the basis of topics of Classes I to V of state syllabus (old). The difficulty standard of questions will be up to X class level. The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will contain MCQs not only on content but also on pedagogy. In Mathematics 24 MCQs will be on content and 6 MCQs on pedagogy. Similarly in Environmental Studies 24 MCQs will be on content and 6 MCQs on pedagogy.
v) The syllabi for Language I & II shall be based on proficiency in the language, elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities (standard up to Class X level).

Note (1): The test items on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the primary level.
(2): How to choose language – I of TS-TET Paper-I: The following languages are offered under first Language in schools under State Syllabus viz. ., Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Guajarati. A Candidate has to choose one of these 8 languages under Language-I of TET, those candidates should have compulsorily studied that language either as medium of study or as first language at least up to Class X. The candidates who studied CBSE/ICSE curriculum can choose the language which they have studied up to Class X.
(3): The Language-II shall be English for all candidates.
(4): The syllabi for Mathematics & Environmental Studies are designed on the basis of topics of Classes I to V. The difficulty standard as well as linkages of content/topics could be up to Secondary Stage (up to Class X) for testing. The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) not only on content but also on Pedagogy. In Mathematics 24 MCQs will be on Content and 6 MCQs on Pedagogy. Similarly in Environmental Studies 24 MCQs will be on content and 6 MCQs on Pedagogy.
(5): The syllabi for Language I & II shall be based on Proficiency in the Language, Elements of language, Communication and Comprehension abilities (standard up to Class X level).
(6): In 30 MCQs under Language I & II, each shall include 6 questions on Pedagogy of a Language.
(7): The detailed syllabus for all subjects shall be designed by the SCERT and the same shall be issued along with Notification.

e) Paper II (for classes VI to VIII); No of MCQs - 150;

i) The syllabus for Child Development and Pedagogy under Paper II is based on the syllabus of D.Ed / B.Ed curriculum focusing on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning in Classes VI and above. The syllabus also focuses on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

ii) In Telangana State, the following languages are offered under Language I viz., Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Tamil, and Sanskrit. Candidate has to choose one of these languages under Language I. Candidates with Language Pandit Training Certificate should only choose that particular Language as Language-I of TET Paper-II.

iii) In respect of Telangana State language II shall be English for all candidates.

iv) For Paper II Science & Mathematics sectors questions will be as follows:

v) For Paper II Social Studies portion the syllabus will cover the sectors namely, History, Geography, Civics and Economics.

vi) For Paper II the syllabi for TSTET 2016 of Mathematics & Sciences, Social Studies are based on topics of Classes VI to VIII (old syllabus) with difficulty standard of questions upto Secondary Level.

vii) The syllabi for language I and II shall be based on proficiency in the language, elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities standard up to Secondary Level.

Note :
1) The test items on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the elementary level.
2) How to choose language – I of TS-TET Paper-II: The following languages are offered under first Language in secondary schools under State Syllabus viz., Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Sanskrit. A Candidate (other than language pandit candidate) has to choose one of these 7 languages under Language I of TET, those candidates should have compulsorily studied that language either as medium of study or first language at least up to Class-X. The candidates who studied CBSE/ICSE curriculum can choose the language which they have studied up to Class X. Language pandit candidates have to choose the language of their study in pandit training concerned under language-I of TET Paper-II.
3): The Language-II shall be English for all candidates.
4): For Paper II Mathematics & Science sectors, questions will be as follows:
(i) Mathematics - 30 MCQs (Content 24; Pedagogy 06)
(ii) Science - 30 MCQs (Content 24; Pedagogy 06)
a) Content - Physical Science - 12 MCQs
b) Content - Biological Science - 12 MCQs
c) Science Pedagogy – 06 MCQs.

5): For Paper II Social Studies, the syllabus will cover the sectors/areas namely, History, Geography, Civics and Economics. Out of 60 marks, 48 will be on content and the remaining 12 on Pedagogy.
6): For Paper II, the syllabi for TET of Mathematics & Sciences, Social Studies are based on topics of Classes VI to VIII. The difficulty standard of questions as well as their linkages could be up to Senior Secondary Level (12th class).
7): The syllabi for Language I & II shall be based on proficiency in the language, elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities (standard up to Senior Secondary Level (12th Class).
